2010 Naias – Photos from the Detroit Auto Show

with one comment

The toll the economy has taken on the automotive industry was certainly evident this weekend at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.  Absent from the crowd for the second consecutive year were Porsche and Nissan, as well as Aston.  The floor was very sparse, much more room to walk where years past concept cars had occupied the floor space.

Now the focus is more on green-car features, as well the entire lower-level being devoted to a track for hydrogen-powered cars.

There is still hope though.  Here and there you can find automotive pride tucked away in the corner of the exhibiits.  I’m sure automakers don’t want to be seen being too lucrative with bailout money, but wouldn’t it be so boring if everyone drove smart cars?
