Waking up at six in the morning, traveling for 3 hours, and hiking all day may not at first seem like the most fun in the world.  But believe me when I tell you, it was one of the most incredible experiences one can have.  The shear size of the Alps is incomprehensible.  You look across a valley to the next mountain and it looks so close, when in reality it would take hours to reach the top.  If you ever get the chance to go, I definitely recommend it.

The Zugspitze is the highest point in Germany. At an elevation of nearly 9,500ft, it lies just before the border to Austria. I can’t imagine what this place would be like in Winter.
